Two Houses Joined under a Western Face
The Takeda Family Residence (武田家住宅) is a house that was once a clinic of 1916 in Furuichiba, Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on July 15, 1997 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Two Buildings Joined behind a Western Front
According to the Agency, the Takeda Family Residence was originally Japanese in style: in 1956 a building was moved and joined as the right half to a left half built in 1928.
At that time only the outer walls were remodelled in Western style to match the left-hand building, so that Japanese roofs now sit over Western walls (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The house was once a clinic.
