Why It Was Registered
The Jomo Electric Railway Ogo Power-Receiving Tower was registered as a structure that contributes to the historic landscape of the country. The Agency for Cultural Affairs presents it as one of the towers making up the substation equipment at Ogo, and the Jomo Electric Railway notes that the substation and towers date from the 1928 opening.
What to Look For
A tower receiving high-voltage three-phase power from the electricity company, about 40 metres south of the substation. On its north side a hand-operated rotating insulator serves as a disconnecting switch (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Two portal towers set north and south are linked into a chair-like form, a distinctive shape (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
