Toshiharu
Toshiharu (十四春) is a townhouse facing east onto Suwamachi-dori north-west of the Karasuma Gojo crossing in Benzaitencho, Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto; its main house and storehouse of around 1909 were registered as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties on November 10, 2005 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

A Main House behind a Wall and a Storehouse on the Garden
A tall wall 10 metres long lines the street, and the main house stands a little behind it (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The wall, with vertical boards below, exposed posts above and a projecting lattice window, is neatly made, and inside the main house fine woods are used throughout, with several reception rooms of different character in the north half.
At the north-west corner of the long east-west plot stands a two-storey clay-walled storehouse with a gabled roof of round and flat tiles. Black plaster above its doorway makes it look like a gateway, and facing the back garden it completes the house plot (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Each building is described on its own page.
