A Round Kindergarten of 1963
The Warabi Kindergarten Round Building (わらび幼稚園円形園舎) is a round kindergarten building of 1963 in Minamicho, Warabi City, Saitama Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on December 3, 2024 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a two-storey reinforced concrete building with a building area of 398 square metres, altered in 1997; registration number 11-0231.
A Kindergarten in the Round
The Warabi Kindergarten Round Building stands in the south-east of central Warabi (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It is a two-storey round building of reinforced concrete entered from the north; on the ground floor, wedge-shaped classrooms surround a central playroom, and the smaller upper floor is ringed by a roof terrace.
According to Saitama Prefecture, it was designed by the architect Sakamoto Kanao and is the first registered building in Warabi.

The Agency calls it a skilful design by Sakamoto Kanao that brings in daylight on a cramped site, and registered it as a model of design.
