What to Look For

According to Osu Kannon, the Osu library of Hoshoin is counted with the sutra repositories of Daigoji and Negoroji as one of three great collections, holding some fifteen thousand volumes known as the Shinpukuji or Osu texts. This collection is one of its National Treasures, alongside the Kojiki, the Hanshu treatise on food and money and the Diaoyuji.

A collection copied in Tang China has been preserved, together with the text on its reverse, in a temple library in Nagoya.
