Kankyo Mirin Residence Storehouse

A Black-Plastered Storehouse

The Kankyo Mirin Residence Storehouse (甘強味淋住宅土蔵) is a sturdy storehouse joined to the main house of 1923 in Shiro, Kanie Town, Ama District, Aichi Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on November 10, 2005 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency records a two-storey plastered storehouse with a tiled roof and a building area of 42 square metres; registration number 23-0208.

Black Plaster and a Plank Roof

The storehouse of the Kankyo Mirin residence, of 1923, stands at the south-east corner of the main house, joined to it at the front; it is a two-storey plastered store, gabled on a north-south ridge with pantiles (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

It has double doors on the west of the ground floor and small roofs over the east windows. The walls are black plaster with a moulded band at the top, and the roof frame uses sloping beams that carry thick planks without rafters, a sturdy construction (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
