The Chiba Reimei Gakuen Student Hall (千葉黎明学園生徒館) is an assembly and martial arts hall of 1924 in Yachimataho, Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on March 29, 2013 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency records a single-storey timber building with a sheet-iron roof and a building area of 303 square metres; registration number 12-0162.

Assembly Hall and Dojo at the Heart of the School

The Chiba Reimei Gakuen Student Hall is a single-storey timber assembly hall and martial arts hall near the middle of the school grounds (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Its half-hipped roof with dormer windows is distinctive, and the roof is carried by modified timber trusses whose lower chords are tensioned with turnbuckles, an unusual system.

Why It Was Registered

The Agency calls it a modern Western-style building that conveys directly the townscape of Yachimata in its early years, and registered it for its contribution to the historic landscape.
