A Thatched Gable-Entry Farmhouse in Echizen
The Koizumi Family Residence Main House (小泉家住宅主屋) is a thatched farmhouse entered from the gable end of the late Edo period in Nikaidocho, Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on November 2, 2009 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a single-storey timber house with a partial upper floor, thatched and partly tiled, with a building area of 324 square metres, renovated in 2008; registration number 18-0081.
A Plan Centred on the Main Room
The main house of the Koizumi family has a thatched hip-and-gable main roof entered from the gable end, with tiled gable roofs on both sides and at the rear, and a deep tiled lean-to all round (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
