Yatsusankan
Yatsusankan (八ツ三館) is an inn at the foot of a bridge over the river in Furukawacho Mukaimachi, Hida City, Gifu Prefecture; its main building of 1905, its great hall wing of 1935 and its late Meiji storehouse became Registered Tangible Cultural Properties on October 2, 2007 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Three Buildings
The two-storey hip-and-gable main building on the prefectural road has guest rooms upstairs, each in a different design, and an open hall, reception rooms and baths below. The great hall wing behind it holds a banquet hall of 100 mats upstairs, with a large alcove, shelves and a writing desk (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Between them, the storehouse, six bays by four, is a powerful space of massive timbers (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Each building is described on its own page.
