Rooms Each in a Different Design

The Yatsusankan Main Building is the main building of an inn at the foot of a bridge over the river, facing the prefectural road, a two-storey building under a pantiled roof (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A north–south hip-and-gable wing forms the front, with an east–west gabled wing behind it.

Guest rooms are mainly on the upper floor, with an open hall, reception rooms and baths below; each room has its own design, making it rewarding to see (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Why It Was Registered

The Agency notes that every room has its own design, and registered it as a structure that would not be easy to reproduce.

What to Look For

Look for the open hall and the different design of each guest room (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Visiting

The Agency record does not name an owner. No official information on the inn's operation or on visits was found. The three buildings are covered together on the Yatsusankan group page.
