Yoryuji Temple
Yoryuji Temple (楊柳寺) in the hills at Yachiyoku Yamato, Taka Town, Taka District, Hyogo Prefecture, is a Tendai temple whose main hall of 1751 and mid-Edo Niomon Gate were registered as Registered Tangible Cultural Properties on March 29, 2013 (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Both are owned by the temple and were registered for their contribution to the historic landscape.

The precinct is laid out on two terraces: the gate faces south at the entrance to the lower one, and the main hall stands on the upper one (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Two Buildings
The main hall is five bays by four and a half, with a hip-and-gable copper roof and a one-bay porch; four curved tie beams cross the coffered ceiling of the outer sanctuary, and the inner sanctuary holds a large shrine cabinet. The Agency describes it as a full-scale Tendai temple hall in the mountains.
The Niomon Gate is a three-bay, single-passage two-storey gate with a hip-and-gable roof of full tiles and two-step bracketing on its upper storey. Its saucered bearing blocks and inserted brackets show the influence of the Daibutsu style, and the Agency calls it a well-proportioned gate fit for an old temple. Each building is described on its own page.
