A Back Gate Moved to the Front
The Tsukamoto Family Residence Gate (塚本家住宅門) is a yakuimon gate moved from the back to the front of 1907, moved in 1969 in Makabecho Makabe, Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on November 8, 2004 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a timber gate with a tiled roof, 2.8 metres wide; registration number 08-0154.
From Back Gate to Street Front
The gate of the Tsukamoto family residence is a yakuimon gate near the middle of the street frontage on the south side of the plot, gabled with a tiled roof and its ridge running east-west (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Built in 1907 as the back gate, it was moved to its present place on Kamijuku street in 1969 when the old main gate was demolished. Its eaves line up with the shop and with the black board fence in front of the storehouse, a key part of the historic street (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
