The Main Hall of Shinnyodo

The Shinsho Gokurakuji Temple (Shinnyodo) Main Hall (眞正極樂寺本堂) is the main hall of the temple known as Shinnyodo of 1717 in Jodoji Shinnyocho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and was designated an Important Cultural Property on May 24, 1986 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency records a seven-by-seven-bay hip-and-gable hall with a tiled roof; designation number 02181.

The Main Hall of Shinnyodo

The main hall of Shinsho Gokurakuji in Jodoji Shinnyocho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, dates from 1717; it is seven bays by seven, single-storey and hip-and-gable, with porches of three bays at the front and one at the back, and a tiled roof (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

According to the temple, its formal name is Reishozan Shinsho Gokurakuji, it is popularly called Shinnyodo, and the main hall was rebuilt in the Edo period.
