A Kan'ei-Era Hall at Myoshinji

The Tenkyuin Main Hall (天球院本堂) is the main hall of a sub-temple of Myoshinji of the Kan'ei era (1624–1643) in Hanazono Myoshinjicho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, and was designated an Important Cultural Property on April 13, 1922 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency records a single-storey hall 21.2 by 14.0 metres under a pantiled hip-and-gable roof, with its entrance hall, a set of old wall-panel battens and an old ridge-end tile designated alongside it; designation number 00757.

The 1922 date in the Agency record is that of its designation under the former law.

A Hip-and-Gable Hall

The Tenkyuin Main Hall is the main hall of Tenkyuin, one of the sub-temples within the precincts of Myoshinji in Hanazono, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto. The Agency dates it to the Kan'ei era and records a single-storey building 21.2 by 14.0 metres under a pantiled hip-and-gable roof.
