A Storehouse with an Ink Inscription

The storehouse of the Wada residence, from the late Edo period, stands north-south at the east back of the plot, east of the main house (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Two bays square with a gabled roof of round and flat tiles and its entrance on the long side, it has a clay pent roof over the west doorway and a small window upstairs.

Ink writing on the sliding door of the window, reading "Iseya Gihei, sixth month of the year of the rooster", shows the state of things before the Wada family acquired the property in 1892 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
