A Silk Farmer's House Reborn as an Inn
The Farmhouse Inn Oriza no Mori (former Takano Family Residence Main House) (農家民宿おりざの森（旧高野家住宅主屋）) is the main house of a silk-farming family of 1890 in Nakajima, Kami Town, Kami District, Miyagi Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on February 14, 2002 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a timber house roofed in sheet iron, with a building area of 150 square metres, moved to its present site in 2001; registration number 04-0042.
A Farmhouse Moved from Kakuda
The former Takano family house was a farmhouse at Takakura in Kakuda, Miyagi Prefecture, near the border with Fukushima, and a ridge tag dates it to 1890 (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It was later moved here and put to use as an inn.
It is a tall building of two storeys entered on its long side, gabled at the right end and hipped at the left (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
