The shop of the former Hashihira brewery stands on the east of the site along the old Oshu Kaido road and dates from the early Meiji period, extended and altered around 1925 (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A two-storey building with an iron-sheet roof, hip-and-gable to the south and gabled to the north, it has a lean-to at the front, and deep brackets give its projecting eaves a bold look.

The shop is on the ground floor, with a reception room with an alcove upstairs. The Agency notes that it adds weight to the scene of the old road.
