The Two Buildings

The south-facing main hall has the six-room plan of an abbot's hall with a front earth floor, plain apart from tie beams at key points, and shows the character of early modern Soto Zen halls in the area. The gate directly in front of it is a one-bay yakuimon gate 2.7 metres wide, with wing walls, a wicket on the east and doors studded with metal fittings (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Each is described on its own page.
