It adjoins the rickshaw shed on the north, its ridge running east to west under a hipped tile roof with copper sheeting along part of the eaves. A puller who had delivered a guest did not go into the house, and was not left standing in the road either. This small building is the space between those two, and it preserves in physical form where servants belonged on a Meiji estate.
