A 1934 Mansion behind Aoyama-dori
Museum 1999 (Former Chiba Tsunegoro Residence) (ミュージアム１９９９（旧千葉常五郎邸）) is a reinforced-concrete mansion of 1934 in Shibuya, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on May 10, 2018 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a reinforced-concrete building of two storeys and a basement with a slate roof and a building area of 428 square metres, altered in 1981 and 2000; registration number 13-411.
A Conical Hall at the Centre
Museum 1999, the former Chiba Tsunegoro Residence, faces east on a street behind Aoyama-dori (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The main block is gabled with dormer windows, and at the centre a conical entrance hall and a pyramid-roofed porch are stacked one before the other to make a showy front.
