A Log-Built Sutra Repository
The sutra repository of Kodaiin stands west of the approach, facing east on a base of cut stone, in the log-built azekura style (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It has a pyramidal roof of copper shaped like hongawara tiles.
Round floor posts stand on foundation stones, logs are stacked on a frame laid like a well curb, and purlins rest on top, with close rafters at the eaves. Inside is a single boarded room under a ribbed ceiling (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Why It Was Registered
