The Agency records a two-storey reinforced-concrete auditorium with some steel framing and a cement-tile roof, with a building area of 626 square metres; registration number 23-0057.

Three Framed Doorways and a Pediment-Like Gable

Taki Gakuen was founded by Taki Shinshiro, a wealthy Nagoya merchant (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The auditorium, of reinforced concrete with a steel-truss roof, stands on the east side of the square in front of the main building.

It is almost free of ornament; the three framed doorways at the front and the pediment-like gable of the roof give it a symbolic form (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Why It Was Registered

The Agency registered the auditorium for its contribution to the historic landscape.
