Kaunkaku, a two-storey hall of about 1900 at Katori Shrine in Chiba used for gatherings and ritual feasts, has a karahafu entrance and blends into the precinct.

A thatched late Edo farmhouse at the heart of a Mobara peony garden, with an earth-floored west end and four rooms. Open as a tea room for three weeks each spring.

The Former Saito Family Residence Inari Shrine is a tiny mid-Meiji shrine in Ichinomiya, Chiba, carved with lions, clouds, waves and a dragon signed by its maker.
