A Plain Guest Hall with a Formal Entrance
The Meisekiji Temple Guest Hall (明石寺客殿) is a guest hall with a cusped-gable entrance of the Taisho period in Uwacho Ageishi, Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on October 2, 2007 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a single-storey timber building with a tiled roof and a building area of 157 square metres, altered around 1967; registration number 38-0080.
A Guest Hall with a 48-Mat Room
The guest hall stands south-east of the Niomon gate, facing north; it is eight bays by five under a hip-and-gable pantiled roof, with a formal entrance under a cusped gable at the west end of the front (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Inside are a 48-mat room with a large alcove, an entrance room and an office, with a tea room attached at the south-east (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Plain in design, it gives a calm exterior.
