Registered Tangible Cultural Properties of Kochi

A 39-square-metre Taisho storehouse in Kochi answering typhoon country with drip tiles, a ventilated set roof, and two-tone plaster. Registered in 2003 for design.

Built in 1890 and relocated around 1917, this 201-square-metre Kochi house wears a hipped tile roof stepped down at the eaves. Registered in 2003, now a guesthouse.

An 18-metre reinforced concrete garden wall of the early Showa era, pierced with curved diamonds and checkerboard voids. Registered in 2003 as not easy to reproduce.

Just 1.5 metres wide, this early Showa timber gate divides entrance from garden at Hyakunen-ya in Kochi. Registered in 2003 for the order it brings to the approach.

Built in 1924, the west wing of the Fukoe Residence in Tano, Kochi, is the shop half of a merchant house: earth floor toward the street, cooking range behind it.

The east wing of the Fukoe Residence in Tano, Kochi, is an early Meiji merchant house moved in 1924. Three tile bands shed rain from its plastered east gable.

The Fukoe Residence barn in Tano, Kochi, is listed as one item but built as two sheds. The lower east shed still carries its rare left-handed pan tiles.
