The Three Buildings

The main hall, toward the north of the precinct and facing south, has a skirted pyramidal front hall with a gabled inner hall projecting behind. The shoin to its east, linked by a corridor, has three rooms, the inner one a sukiya-style room of logs and coloured clay walls. The gate at the top of stone steps in the south-west corner is thatched, with octagonal posts and fanned log rafters in the sukiya manner (Agency for Cultural Affairs). Each is described on its own page.
