The Oldest Building at Emyoji

The Oldest of the Three
The Emyoji Temple Gate, built in 1677, is a timber gate with a tiled roof, 2.1 metres wide (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It is more than 150 years older than the main hall and bell tower of 1833, and the oldest of the temple's three registered structures.
