A Worship Hall of Layered Gables
The Shirahige Shrine Worship Hall (白髯神社拝殿) is the worship hall of a shrine of 1878 in Kinasa Hikage, Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on August 15, 2024 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a single-storey timber hall with a copper roof, covering 61 square metres, altered in 1923 and 2017; registration number 20-0647.
A Worship Hall East of the Main Hall
The Shirahige Shrine Worship Hall stands east of the main hall, an Important Cultural Property, in the mountains west of Nagano City (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It has a hip-and-gable roof entered on the long side, with a porch under a cusped eave gable at the front and a triangular gable above.
The purlins rest directly on the posts, and the eaves have two tiers of closely set rafters (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A veranda with railings topped by onion-shaped finials runs on three sides, ending at side screens, and the interior is a single board-floored room with a batten ceiling.
