A Spanish-Style Villa beside the Katakurakan

A Spanish-Style Front and Fine Materials
The guest house of the Suwako Hotel, a two-storey timber house of 1928, stands on the north edge of the site just south of the Katakurakan; its hipped, pantiled exterior is designed in a Spanish style (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
Inside, the ground floor has Western rooms and the upper floor Japanese rooms, finished in fine materials such as Italian marble and Taiwan cypress (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The Agency calls it a good example of the Western-style house of an early Showa villa.
