An Abbot's Hall of 1629 Serving as the Main Hall

The Jorokuji Temple Main Hall (Former Abbot's Quarters) (丈六寺本堂（元方丈）) is a main hall built as the abbot's quarters of 1629 in Jorokucho, Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, and was designated an Important Cultural Property on March 31, 1953 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency records 18.7 metres by 11.8 metres, single-storey, with a hip-and-gable roof of full tiles, designated together with five ridge tablets; designation number 01215.

A Former Abbot's Hall

As its name says, the main hall of Jorokuji was originally the abbot's quarters: a building 18.7 by 11.8 metres with a hip-and-gable roof of full tiles (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The Agency dates it to 1629 and designates five ridge tablets with it.
