The Agency records a two-storey timber building, partly reinforced concrete, with a tiled roof and a building area of 230 square metres, moved and altered in 2004; registration number 23-0407.

Two Storehouses Joined into One

The former repository of the Hosa Bunko is a two-storey timber building designed by Yoshimoto Yoshio, who joined two storehouses that stood on the estate into a single store for furnishings (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The roof rests on king-post trusses and the outer walls are mortared right up to the roof boards.

For many years it served as the book store of the Hosa Bunko, the library of books handed down in the Owari Tokugawa family (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Why It Was Registered
