Manpukuji Temple Sanmon Gate
The Manpukuji Temple Sanmon Gate (萬福寺山門) is a structure of 1844 at Manpukuji in Kamishigehara-cho, Chiryu City, Aichi Prefecture, and it was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property on November 17, 2015, under registration number 23-0451. The Agency for Cultural Affairs records it as a timber gate with a tiled roof, 5.4 metres wide.
Why It Was Registered
The Manpukuji Temple Sanmon Gate was registered as contributing to the historic landscape of the country. According to the Agency, it is a gate with a hip-and-gable tiled roof at the front of the grounds to the east. Though four-legged in type, its round posts stand inside the ends of the ridge line to frame the opening.
