Meitetsu Mikawa Line Former Nishinakagane Station Platform
The Meitetsu Mikawa Line Former Nishinakagane Station Platform (名鉄三河線旧西中金駅プラットホーム) is a structure of the early Showa period at a former station on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, and it was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property on October 2, 2007, under registration number 23-0256. The Agency for Cultural Affairs records it as a stone structure with an area of 130 square metres, 36 metres long, 3.7 metres wide and 1.0 metre high.
Why It Was Registered
The Meitetsu Mikawa Line Former Nishinakagane Station Platform was registered as contributing to the historic landscape of the country. According to the Agency, it is a long, straight east-west structure immediately north of the station building, built of granite in diagonal (tanizumi) coursing, with pentagonal stones set along the top to finish its shape.
Simply built without a canopy, it forms, in the Agency's words, a railway landscape that blends into the farmland together with the station building.
What to Look For

From the canopy-less platform, take in the surrounding fields; Tourism Toyota also highlights its nostalgic atmosphere.
