The Kamiyuge Tasaka Family Residence Main House (上弓削田坂家住宅主屋) is a modern Japanese house carrying on the island farmhouse type of 1917, restored in 2018 in Yuge Kamiyuge, Kamijima Town, Ochi District, Ehime Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on March 29, 2019 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a two-storey timber house with a tiled roof and a building area of 94 square metres; registration number 38-0130.
A Main House in a Yuge Port Town
The main house of the Tasaka family residence in Kamiyuge, built in 1917, stands in the middle of its plot facing north, in a port town on the west coast of Yuge Island (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It is a hip-and-gable house with a tiled roof and a low upper floor, lean-tos front and back, and a kitchen wing projecting at the west end of the back.
An earth-floored area lies to the west and four rooms in two rows to the east, the front room of the east row being the formal room (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The Agency describes it as a modern Japanese house that carries on the farmhouse type of the Seto Inland Sea islands.
