Umebijin Sake Brewery Residence Main House (梅美人酒造住宅主屋, Umebijin Shuzō Jūtaku Shuoku) is a two-storey timber dwelling of 1916 at 1557-2 Yawatahama City, Ehime Prefecture, entered on Japan's register of Registered Tangible Cultural Properties in 2004. With a building area of 85 square metres it is the smallest of the four registered structures in the compound, and it stands southwest of the office.
On its south side is a Zashiki range, a north-south block of two and a half ken by four ken, gabled in Kirizuma-zukuri and roofed with Sangawara-buki pantiles, two storeys in timber. At the northeast end, the dining room joins directly onto the rear of the office, toward its southern side. House and business are separate buildings that nonetheless touch.
The brewery was founded in 1916 by Ueda Umeichi. Umebijin Sake Brewery Residence Main House carries the same date as the brewing house, which means the production sheds and the family quarters went up together rather than one following the other.
A Gable Wall Pretending to Be Stone

Then find where the dining room meets the office. Two buildings of different ridge heights and different roof orientations always need a resolution at the junction.
