A Detached House beside the Garden

The Imao Family Residence Hanare (Detached House) (今尾家住宅離れ) is a single-storey timber detached house of the Taisho period on the Imao family estate in Naka-Shinkano-cho, Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, which in 2007 was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs records a tiled roof and a building area of 68 square metres; it was registered for its contribution to the historic landscape.

The Agency places it in the southwest corner of the site, facing east.

Structure

According to the Agency, it has a pantiled hip-and-gable roof with lean-tos all round, a foundation of round stones laid in a tortoiseshell pattern, and cedar clapboard walls with plaster above.

The Agency notes that, with the garden on its east side and the inner gate bearing a plaque reading Meichikukyo, it forms a scene rich in charm.
