At 23.4 meters, the tallest of the registered chimneys
Kamotsuru Sake Brewery No. 3 Brewhouse Chimney (賀茂鶴酒造三号蔵煙突, Kamotsuru Shuzō Sangōgura Entotsu) is a brick chimney from the early Taisho era (1912 to 1918) at the head office of Kamotsuru Sake Brewery in Saijo Honmachi, Higashihiroshima City, registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property on June 28, 2017.
It stands west of the No. 3 Brewhouse, with its base enclosed inside the boiler house. Its base is 1.9 meters a side and it rises 23.4 meters, the tallest of Kamotsuru's four registered chimneys.
Lettered for the third brewery
The brick is laid in English bond, and the top steps outward in a corbelled crown. A steel reinforcing frame is fixed to the upper shaft, and the lettering "Kamotsuru Third Brewery" is mounted on it.

The older No. 2 chimney carries only the brand name, while this one and the late Taisho No. 4 chimney name their brewery number, a trace of the years when Kamotsuru expanded production brewhouse by brewhouse.
Why the Kamotsuru Sake Brewery No. 3 Brewhouse Chimney was registered
It was registered for its contribution to the historic landscape, the agency calling it a local landmark. Its base inside the boiler house shows that chimney and rice-steaming room were built as one installation.
