A Traditional Inn of Kinosaki Onsen
The Kobayashiya Ryokan (小林屋旅館) is a three-storey timber inn of Kinosaki Onsen of the early Showa era (1926–1945) in Kinosakicho Yushima, Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on November 17, 2015 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a timber building of two storeys, partly three, with a tiled roof and a building area of 472 square metres, altered between 1946 and 1965; registration number 28-0620.
A Three-Storey Inn by the River
The Kobayashiya Ryokan is a three-storey timber inn facing the street along the river, with guest rooms on the first floor at the front and a large hall on the top floor, wide openings and eaves wrapped around it (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The plan runs deep, with guest rooms also in a two-storey wing at the very back, and in between only a courtyard for light and a small indoor bath (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
