A Lower Wing with Glazed Windows and Railings
The Mikiya West Building (三木屋西館) is a two-storey inn wing joined to the east wing of 1927 in Kinosakicho Yushima, Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on October 7, 2014 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a two-storey timber building with a tiled roof and a building area of 202 square metres, altered in the mid-Showa period and in 2013; registration number 28-0598.
Glazed Windows and Railings on the South
The west wing of Mikiya stands west of the east wing and is joined to it; it is a two-storey inn building, lower than the east wing, with a hip-and-gable roof of plain tiles (Agency for Cultural Affairs). The south front has glazed windows and railings on the upper floor, and both floors hold guest rooms.
With the east wing, it keeps well the look of Kinosaki Onsen as rebuilt after the North Tajima earthquake of 1925 (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A Toyooka City Library leaflet mentions Room 26 at Mikiya, where Shiga Naoya stayed, and dates his first visit to Kinosaki to 1913.

The Agency notes that, with the east wing, it keeps the look of the post-earthquake rebuilding, and registered it for its contribution to the historic landscape.
