Round Windows and Bridge Railings

The bath building of Funaoka Onsen, of 1932, replaced the brick bath of the early days (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A single storey in reinforced concrete, it holds the corridor from the changing room and the men's and women's baths, with the old boiler room at the back.

Round windows open in its raised clerestory, stone railings from the Kikusui Bridge that stood at Senbon Kuramaguchi are reused, and the inside is lined with decorative tiles, a striking design that people have long enjoyed (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

The Agency registered it as a model of design.
