A Storehouse with a Triple Door

The storehouse of Ichijo Ryokan, from the early Meiji era (1868–1882), stands at the very back of the plot at Kamasaki Onsen, on a raised level (Agency for Cultural Affairs). It is a clay-walled store 5 bays by 2.5 bays, with a separate roof of sheet metal set over the clay one.

The walls have clapboards below and white plaster above. Its posts stand at 3-shaku intervals on the back and 1.5-shaku intervals elsewhere. The north front has a pent roof, and the entrance is closed by three doors in turn, a clay door, a board door and a lattice door, a sign of its high quality (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Why It Was Registered

The Agency registered it as a model of design.
