A Gate Entered at a Right Angle
The Furuta Akira Memorial Museum Gate (古田晁記念館門) is a bracketed gate of the early Showa period in Kitaono, Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on April 28, 2009 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a timber gate with a tiled roof, 1.8 metres wide, with flanking walls on both sides; registration number 20-0349.
A Bracketed Gate with Flanking Walls
The Gate stands toward the east of the site: a bracketed gate 1.8 metres wide under a gabled pantile roof, hung with double board doors (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The walls that run out and turn on either side are also of high standing, with board-faced lower walls on stone foundations, plastered upper walls and pantile copings (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
