A 39-Metre Brewery Storehouse of the Late Edo Period
The Daiichi Shuzo Sake Brewery Storehouse (第一酒造酒蔵) is a sake brewery storehouse of around 1868, altered in the late Showa period in Tajimacho, Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on November 29, 2016 (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
The Agency records a two-storey storehouse-style building with a tiled roof, covering 818 square metres; registration number 09-0225.
A Large Storehouse 39 Metres Long
The sake brewery storehouse of Daiichi Shuzo is a large storehouse 39 metres long in the north-west corner of the site (Agency for Cultural Affairs). A two-storey core 11 metres deep has lean-tos 6 metres wide on the north and south.
The roof has a Japanese-style frame over the core posts with raking beams between. The main steps of brewing take place in this building (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
