The Kanemitsu Sake Brewery Brewing Storehouse (金光酒造仕込蔵) is the two-storey earthen brewing storehouse of the early Meiji period, extended in the late Meiji period, at the Kanemitsu sake brewery in Nomio, Kurose-cho, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on April 3, 2020.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs records it as a two-storey earthen-walled building with a tiled roof and a building area of 409 square metres; registration number 34-0268. Eight structures at the brewery, the brewing and storage storehouses, packing house, bottling house, annex, well house, gate and wall, and chimney, were registered on the same day (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

What to Look For

The brewing storehouse stands in the north-west of the site between the main house and the storage storehouse. Its ridges form a T with the top to the north, with a lean-to on the east of the north-south wing; the east-west wing is hipped (Yosemune-zukuri) and the north-south wing gabled (Kirizuma-zukuri), under pantiles and white plaster (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Sake is brewed on the ground floor, and the upper floor is used for storage (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
