The Kanemitsu Sake Brewery Storage Storehouse (金光酒造貯蔵蔵) is the two-storey earthen storage storehouse of the late Meiji period, extended in the late Taisho period, at the Kanemitsu sake brewery in Nomio, Kurose-cho, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and was registered as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property (structure) on April 3, 2020.

The Agency for Cultural Affairs records it as a two-storey earthen-walled building with a tiled roof and a building area of 315 square metres; registration number 34-0269. Eight structures at the brewery, the brewing and storage storehouses, packing house, bottling house, annex, well house, gate and wall, and chimney, were registered on the same day (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

What to Look For

The storage storehouse stands along the north edge of the site against the brewing storehouse: a two-storey earthen store 39 metres long, made up of a gabled (Kirizuma-zukuri) east wing and a lower west wing (Agency for Cultural Affairs).

Inside, the ground floor is earth-floored and the upper floor boarded, with storage tanks lined up on the ground floor of the west wing (Agency for Cultural Affairs).
