Registered Tangible Cultural Properties of Niigata

Completed in 1951 at Iwamuro Onsen near Yahiko, this timber inn was registered in 2016 with three sister wings. Still open, with every bath fed by raw spring water.

Saieiji Kyozo in Tokamachi, Niigata, is a mud-walled sutra repository of about 1848. Just 13 square metres, it holds an altar and scripture shelves. Registered 2000.
